We track thousands of active job listings across AI-focused companies, synced daily from their applicant tracking systems.

The roles companies are actually hiring for

AI/ML Engineering remains the largest category by volume, but the fastest-growing segments are AI Product & Program roles and AI Strategy & Operations. Companies that shipped their first AI features in 2024 and 2025 are now building dedicated product teams around them.

The "AI" prefix is appearing on roles that didn't have it two years ago: AI Design & UX, AI Sales & GTM, AI Data & Analytics. This isn't just rebranding. Job descriptions for these roles include specific AI competencies (prompt design for designers, AI pricing models for sales, LLM-specific data pipelines for analysts).

What these roles pay

Based on listings that post salary data (about 25% of active roles):

  • AI/ML Engineering: \$160K to \$300K base, with senior staff roles at top companies reaching \$400K+ total comp
  • AI Product Management: \$170K to \$280K base, heavily weighted toward senior and staff levels
  • AI Research & Science: \$180K to \$350K base, the highest floor and ceiling of any category
  • AI Strategy & Operations: \$140K to \$220K base, the broadest range reflecting the diversity of this category
  • AI Design & UX: \$150K to \$250K base, growing rapidly as companies invest in AI-native interfaces

Remote vs. on-site

Roughly 40% of AI roles are posted as remote or hybrid, with the rest requiring on-site presence. The split varies by category:

  • AI Research roles skew heavily on-site (many require lab access or classified work)
  • AI Product and Strategy roles are the most likely to be fully remote
  • AI Engineering falls in the middle, with most companies offering hybrid

The companies hiring the most

The top employers in our dataset are a mix of AI-native startups (Anthropic, OpenAI, Perplexity, Midjourney) and large tech companies building AI divisions (Google, Meta, Cloudflare, Databricks). Mid-stage startups in the Series B through D range are growing their AI teams fastest.

If you're looking right now

Specialize your search. "AI jobs" is too broad. Pick a category that matches your background and go deep.

Use the salary filter to prioritize companies that post ranges. They tend to have more structured, faster hiring processes.

Remote AI roles get 3 to 5x more applications than on-site equivalents. If you're flexible on location, you'll face less competition.
